Ever since I was a kid I have loved playing dress up. I think everyone has that kid inside. Looking like a princess, wearing something more exquisite than you could ever imagine feeling truly beautiful. I still get excited every time I can get dolled up and go out somewhere special.
I started sewing when I was about twelve years old and I stopped fitting into clothes properly. By the time I was in high school I was sewing because I could never find clothes I liked. I would cut up and re-model the clothes I had, and buy fabric for the ones I wanted. When I started sewing clothes for other people, I realized that making clothes was more than just a hobby for me.
I attended the Fashion Technology and Design program at George Brown College, in Toronto, where I studied pattern drafting, fabric science and the history of costume. While at George Brown College I was a semi finalist in the Air France Young Designer competition and had my designs shown at Toronto’s Fashion week. Since my studies I have designed gowns for proms, weddings and award show recipients. Princess and Little Pea is a dream come true for me. I love designing fun and whimsical gowns. Clothing that reminds me of why I love playing dress up. I hope I can help your dreams come true.
Sincerely,
Yetunde Sopeju
